What are Energy Star Appliances?

Energy Star Appliances use less energy, save money, and protect the environment. Energy Star intself is run by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy. in 1992 Energy Star set forth a labeling system for consumers on over 60 products. The Organization helps set standards for appliances that assist the consumers in paying less money. Collectively Americans have saved 19 billion dollars on their utility bills in 2008. Energy Star works with well over 15,000 organizations in developing energy efficient appliances and homes.

Energy Star Appliances

Look for the Blue Energy Star label the next time you shop for appliances. The Energy Star Appliance may cost a little more, but you will save more in the long run. Did you know the average household washes over 400 loads of laundry a year? (it seems like so much more at my house). Energy Star claims you can decrease your energy costs by a third and save half off on your water bill. Energy Star website claims that you will be able to save enough money to build three swimming pools in your back yard!

Energy Star claims if you have a refrigerator made before 1993 it could be costing you over 100 dollars more than you need to pay a year. Energy star refrigeratorsclaim to keep precise temperature that will keep your food fresher longer.  If you own an LG refrigerator with french doors you may want to check the site.  The Energy Star wil be with drawing their energy Blue star from certain models.

Energy Star Air Conditioners claim to use ten percent less energy than the older models. Energy Star Air Conditioners are environmentally friendly. The Energy Star web page claims if everyone in the US had an Energy Star Air Conditioner it would prevent 1.3 Billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions !

I have been staggered bu the facts presented on the Energy Star website. They claim hand washing your dishes costs 431 dollars more a year than running them through an Energy Star dishwasher. Amazing!. Energy Star Dishwashers save on energy and water and they just clean better.
