Halloween Haunt at Kings Island

If you are looking for a quick weekend getaway this Halloween may I suggest the Halloween haunt at Kings Island. Kings Island is one of the best known theme parks in Ohio. It is famous for the Diamondback roller coaster and it's miniature Eiffel tower. It also has Nickelodeon rides and attractions for the littler kids.

But at night during the Halloween Season watch out! At the first sign of the sun going down spooky sounds are being played over the intercom. Fog is thick every where, and I mean everywhere! My boyfriend and I could barely see at times. The Fog gives the perfect concealment for the costumed characters who are walking around. These were not ordinary costumed characters either! I accidently "bumped into" a seven foot tall being with glowing eyes and wings. Very scary

So now you are getting the picture that the theme park is turning into a Halloween Haunt. Besides the costumed characters there are many attractions to go through.  There are several types of attractions, indoor mazes and outdoor mazes and shows,  My first attraction I went through last year was Cemetery Drive, a haunted cemetery. The cemetery entrance was complete with a crashed car. Characters hid in clever places and were able to sneak right up on you while you were checking out the graves and other sights. I have to admit I got scared easily when one of the characters got close enough to snort in my ear!

One of the more popular attractions was Club Blood. It was basically a haunted club with exotic dancers who you may not want to meet. These gals are out for blood! Yours!

Massacre Manor was also a popular attraction. It was a haunted house with different scenes in each room. The one attraction i did not attend was the Slaughter House. I heard it was very graphic with it's fake blood and body parts. I am just not into that!

Looking at the website I see a new attraction the Wolf Pack was added this year. It associates with werewolves. I wonder how scary that attraction is!

There are two show you can take in. Hot Blooded and Halfpint Brawlers.  Hotblooded is a sexy vampire show.  Halfpint brawlers are psycho midget wrestlers. yes really.

Suggestions

If you are considering this as a weekend vacation here are some helpful suggestions.  first of all pace yourself.  If you are going to Kings Island you might as well do it right!  Plan to be there when it opens  and spend a few hours enjoying the rides.  Then it is important to get back to hotel room and get some rest!  The Halloween activities do not begin until dusk, so you have some time to get some rest.  Dress comfortably and warm!  I remember freezing and standing in line.  There will be lines to these attractions.  I was amazed at how many people came out for this event!  You may want to plan what you want to see first.  Oh and this goes without saying. please don't bring small children to this. It can really be scary.

The Halloween Haunt was a lot of fun and I would recommend it to others.  My boyfriend and I were able to go the Haunt and the Renaissance Festival for a little over 300.00.  Not a bad price with a three night  hotel stay included.  If you have been to the Haunt or even to Kings Island please share your experiences in the comments section!
